New book soon

I should be done with my first book at the end of this week. I like it because the story's don't drag on and take forever for you to read them, instead they are short story's about fairy tales. I'm not sure which book i am going to choose next but i hope I like it as much as i like this one. :)

Quote question ^_^

"Good literature substitutes for experience which we have not ourselves lived through." -Alexander Solzhenitsyn
That's the quote that we have to explain the meaning of this week and describe how it relates to our books. What the quote means to me is that we can't do certain things in life so we have to live it through books. In my book, "Grimm's Fairy Tales" this relates to it because in the one fairy tale called, "The Goose Girl" a peasant pretends to be a princess and takes the place of her. Eventually everyone finds out that the peasant girl is not really the princess and she has to go back to being a servant while the princess gets back her throne. This is how literature can help you experience things that you would never be able to experience in real life.

Songs that remind me of my book

This weeks question is about how songs can remind you of certain books and how certain books can remind you of certain songs. There are four songs that my book reminds me of.

The first song is called, "Do You Believe In Magic" by The Lovin' Spoonful. This song reminds me of my book because there are alot of things that have to do with magic in it. My book has many short stories that are fairy tales. Though out my whole book there have been at least five witches which all cast spells on people.

Another song that my book reminds me of is "Love Me For Me" by Ashley Tisdale. The thing that makes me think of this is that in my book people always end up marrying people that are not in the same class as them. For example, the one man who was a tailor goes through oppsticles to win the haert of a princess.

Week 2 =P

I believe that the quote means that liturature helps make life more interesting. For example somes life seems so boring. Or other times you just want to getaway from all of the crazy things going on in life and literature is a great way to do so. When things are really stressful you can go read a book and just forget about everything. Of course eventually you have to come back to reality but until then reading is a gret pass time.

Also, it helps when you like the story. I like the book I'm reading. It is just a bunch of little fairy tails, but I think it's better because then you dont have to try and remember one big, long story that is five-hundred pages long. I like certain stories more than others, which for some reason it seems that I enjoy the ones that I've heard of before alot better than the ones that I haven't. But this book does entertain me and I am enjoying it.

Meghan's 1st Book Blog

I chose the book "Grim's Fairy Tales" because it is supposed to be creepy and thats the type of book I usually go for. Although it is larger than most books I choose to read which could possibly be a challenge for me.
